You have a situation that needs to change. You shouldn’t change the situation. That’s how it works right? No, unfortunately, if something needs to change in the workplace, we desperately need each other to create the new reality. This includes talking about progress so you can make adjustments as it goes. “I would do that very differently!” Exactly this is practiced in a safe environment in a recognizable scenario, which is established in good consultation.
Two actors play a scene taken from daily practice (or the near future) in a fun and intelligent way. This one is recognizable and humorous, so you can safely laugh at yourself and your colleagues. The scene is then repeated, this time the participants may shout “stop” if they disagree with the procedure. Under the guidance of an intermediary, they are allowed to give the actors tips and instructions that change the course of the scene. If no “stop” is called, the intermediary assumes that the participants are exactly the same. The audience sits in the director’s chair and is challenged to intervene.
This proven technique ensures that many people have their say. The tantalizing scenes force the participants to show the back of their tongue. In this way you can provide insight into behaviour, mission and strategy, break through behavioral barriers and pave the way for rapid improvement. The atmosphere is relaxed and yet a lot is achieved.
